Our Technicians


Jess Brown:

Jess is a high school graduate of Poplarville High School. He attended Hinds College where he majored in Agriculture and Veterinary Technician, and earned his license as a Certified Veterinary Technician at Mississippi State University. He also attended Pearl Community College where he graduated as a Physical Therapist Assistant. He owns a 5th generation Family Farm in Poplarville, Ms., where they still have the original old stock of “Rakestraw” Pinewoods cattle, “Native” Gulfcoast sheep, Pine Tacky horses, and Longleaf “Yeller Pine” Timber. He has been with Crooked Creek since 2001. He also manages Horse Stomp Ranch, which is a Seedstock ranch for Registered Gray Brahman cattle and Golden Certified F-1 Braford cattle. Jess enjoys all aspects of the cattle industry and also traveling.


Sarah Smith:

Sarah graduated from Mississippi State University, in 2006, with a degree in Animal & Dairy Sciences. She has previously worked in research at MSU and UMMC. Along with working at a horse breeding ranch, she has assisted in duties at a feedlot and backgrounding yards. She helps manage MS Livestock and Blackjack Cattle Company with her husband. She has two daughters and a son who keep her busy with rodeos and showing cattle. Obi, her mastiff, can often be seen visiting the clinic and is much loved by both staff and clients.


Belinda Parker:

Belinda has worked here at Crooked Creek since 2003.She is a wonderful technician who specializes in the dentistry! She helps to make sure our clinic is operating at its best. She is a loving wife and mother of two sons, Ryan and Logan. She also has an amazing granddaughter named Katie Rae. She enjoys riding horses and spending time with her family! She has four wonderful dogs- Jasper, Max, Nelli, and Nala. She loves animals and enjoys working with them at Crooked Creek.


Georganna Nutt:

Georganna, C.V.T., graduated from Hinds Community College with a degree in Veterinary Technology in May 2004. She came to work at Crooked Creek Animal Hospital after graduating, working through 2009, and very much likes the exposure that working in a busy mixed animal practice brings. From performing dental exams and cleanings, to assisting with surgeries, Georganna is enjoying providing excellent animal care with many fun and enthusiastic people who feel the same way towards animal health. She previously worked for the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where she appreciated another aspect of animal care, but is very glad to be back in a clinic helping out companion animals.


Morgan Brown:

Morgan is a graduate of Hinds Community College where she obtained her degree in Veterinary Technology. She loves working in a mixed animal practice. She also enjoys riding horses and playing softball on the weekends.
